Behind the Line: Parkin Costain in Cooke City

Montana boy Parkin Costain knows a thing or two about having fun in the mountains. Sure, he loves ripping classic big-mountain descents, but what sets him apart from the rest is an eye for airtime. On last winter’s trip to Cooke City alongside fellow backcountry freestyle aficionados Kai Jones and Tim Durtschi, Parkin eyed up a ridge line he deemed perfect for building a jump line. Without saying much, he grabbed his snowmobile, and headed up to start chopping blocks and moving snow. Before the crew knew it, they had built a picture-perfect jump line high atop a mountain and started throwing down.
