Jackson Hole Mountain Resort just released their latest video, which highlights the female members of their patrol team. There’s no question that Jackson Hole has some of the most formidable terrain in the world and keeping all that open to the public is a huge challenge. Jackson Hole Ski Patrol requires some of the best trained mountain professionals in the world to keep guests safe. In a traditionally male dominated profession, the ladies of Jackson Hole’s patrol team handle it all from avalanche mitigation with explosives to rapid medical response.
The ladies expanded their parts as strong role models outside of immediate families last year when Jackson Hole Ski Patrol partnered with SheJumps. SheJumps was founded by big mountain skier Lynsey Dyer and her friends Vanessa Pierce and Claire Smallwood. SheJumps aims to increase the participation of women and girls in outdoor activities to help them foster confidence, leadership, and connection to nature. Many of the clinics SheJumps runs are at little or no cost in order to build community and make them accessible. SheJumps x Jackson Hole Ski Patrol went great with many more young girls than expected signing up to learn about mountain safety. The young girls couldn’t have asked for better role models either.
