Year Round Ski Resort to Open 30 Minutes from Denver

Reclaiming the ground of an old landfill, Castle Rock, Colorado has begun construction of a new complex that will center around an outdoor, year round ski resort. Located just outside of downtown Castle Rock, SnowSports 365 will utilize an artificial snow surface made of plastic that is misted with water to ensure snowlike traction and slide, regardless of weather.

Though an artificial snow resort based in Colorado may appear odd, for Castle Rock residents, the alternative is a long drive into traffic snarled mountain roads and expensive lift tickets. The resort will aim to fulfill the skiing cravings of its residents during times when they cannot make the time or money commitment to venture into the mountains.
