Stunning Short Film of Antarctica Shot With A Drone

This past December and January, Stockholm-based filmmaker Kalle Ljung shot this short while touring Antarctica with his 73-year-old-father. Using a DJI Phantom 2 quadcopter, Kalle captured stunning aerial footage of the surrounding landscape—a world of staggering dimensions and extremes. Antarctica is the coldest and largest desert of the world, but the uniqueness of the terrain lends itself to exploration and adventure. It's no wonder this environment, with its multitude of untouched peaks, attracts so many skier and riders. Imagine standing on top of a planar slope that drops straight into the dark, blue ocean with whales swimming below. Can't picture it? Watch the film above and you just may be inspired to plan a trip.

That was beautiful. Thank you for those arial views and the music was so soothing.

I can’t really take any credit for the cinematography, but I’m glad you enjoyed the post! Thanks for the comment, Gerson.
