Video: Rafa Ortiz Sends Montana’s Big Timber Falls

Just like in all other action sports, there’s a few locations that just beg to be ridden, whether its for the aesthetics, the challenge, or the sheer gnar factor. In whitewater kayaking, Montana’s Big Timber Creek checks all those boxes, so it’s no surprise when the best in the world like Rafa Ortiz make the trip up there. Remember last year when Trent McCrerey and Knox Hammack took advantage of some late-season snowmelt to hit the falls in TGR’s Creekbound and Down?

Just getting to the falls is a mission in itself, requiring a challenging portage, and some technical maneuvering just to even get in the water. Once in, it’s a wild ride all the way to the bottom, where the final drop awaits.
