In the case of pro kayakers Nouria Newman, Adrian Mattern and Bren Orton, a trip to Tibet was certain to provide some massive whitewater – but what they ended up finding was bigger than anything they could ever imagine. In fact, it was likely one of the largest rapids any of them had ever paddled.
The three boaters were on an extended mission to Tibet when they came upon the stretch of river that would give them the ride of their lives. For safety, they decided to run it together, but the sheer volume of the water quickly separated them and each was forced to battle their way through alone.
