VIDEO: Andreu Lacondeguy Freerides Peruvian Couloirs

Just like skiing and snowboarding, freeride mountain biking is only possible with the right conditions. To carve those perfect turns down a mountain side, riders look for a certain combination of soil composition and terrain that allows for magic to be made. It just so happens that the combination usually occurs in stunningly beautiful locations – like Virgin, Utah, or the Peruvian Andes. Freeride sensei Andreu Lacondeguy has been spending a lot of time in South America these last few years developing new freeride zones in Peru. In his words: “The red dirt was perfect, I was riding lines that gave me a feeling I had never felt on a bike before. The length of the lines made me feel like I was skiing or snowboarding. That’s something I've been looking to do for many years, and I was finally able to do it here by making long turns on a steep virgin slope.”
