After a longggggg hiatus, freeride mountain bike competition came back to life last weekend in the Oregon desert with Proving Grounds 2021 gathering the best riders both male and female into one badass venue. Think: a slopestyle course on steroids. It’s one thing to watch a skilled rider put together a bunch of style for a film part, but it’s something entirely different to watch a dozen riders link together mind-bending competition runs one after the other. Facing some challenging conditions with storms nearly flooding the venue, riders put down some groundbreaking runs, with Cami Nogueira and Hannah Bergemann taking first and second for the women’s field and Carson Storch, Reed Boggs and Dylan Stark on the men’s podium.
