On July 23, 2015 Ian Flanders, a professional climber and BASE-jumper died in a parachute accident while filming a documentary in Turkey. Prior to the incident, Flanders' climbing partner and best friend Matt Blank realized that BASE-jumping for a living put him consistently in harms way, which prompted him to write letters to all of his loved ones.
In this touching video produced by GoPro, Blank reads his letter that he had written to Flanders before he fell to his death. Blank discusses all of Flanders' best qualities, and why he loved his best friend.

Flanders was the 264th jumper to die since the record keeping began. Flanders and Blank were both aware of the risks, but they believed that the thrill was worth it. After Flanders' death, Blank decided to take a road trip with his ashes to go and visit all the people who were dear to Ian. Although the two friends weren't able to grow old together, they experienced some incredible times and shared unforgettable memories doing what they love the most. Pursuing their dreams and living genuine lives full of risk created a bond between the two jumpers that cannot be put into words.

Definitely very touching and well written, but it seems like Blank almost is using Flanders death for profit or publicity. I don’t know know the situation that well so I could be completely off base.

Yeah… a bit off base. Everything Matt did, it would have happened even if it wasn’t filmed. He’s just ridiculous like that. I’ve never seen two friends that were closer.

Oh no, I meant nothing by the fact that they filmed all their stunts. Thats to be expected and I understand poses little to no added risk.
