“Everesting” seems to have been quite the trend lately, that is if you are an endurance athlete willing to push the boundaries of your legs and lungs. Well, for those of us who aren’t quite that strong, or who prefer a good couch sesh over a good sufferfest, Nat Geo has just the thing for you. Nat Geo recently undertook an expedition to the top of the world, not just to climb Everest, but to research climate change at high elevations as part of their Perpetual Planet initiative. Along the way, they brought along a 360-degree camera to capture the expedition and it provides for a really cool look at the climbing and the incredible high-mountain environment.

Take the time to pan around in 360-degree mode and check out some incredible footage from the top of the world, shot on location from Base Camp all the way to the summit. Of course it’s not the real thing, but with the mountain still closed for the foreseeable future, it’ll do for now.
