Skiers Carston Oliver and Eric Balken, alongside Mystery Ranch Sales Manager Ben Nobel almost learned that the hard way on a recent backcountry camping/skiing trip in Alaska. As tends to happen in AK, the skiers emerged from their tents after a multi-day storm to find that a huge amount of snow had fallen. Unfortunately, the faceted snowpack proved to be highly unstable, leading to some scary moments.
