Finding lift-accessed skiing in early October is tough in the Northern Hemisphere. There are a few resorts open in Europe, but North America's lifts generally don't start spinning until at least mid-October. Jackson Hole doesn't start winter operations until late-November, but TGR's very own Tim Durtschi took advantage of JHMR's last day of "summer" tram ops to shred some pow on Cody Peak.

Sadly, anyone looking to follow in Tim's tracks will need to hike all the way up the mountain, at least until the mountain opens for the season. It might be worth it, though; those were some real powder turns, and there aren't any exposed rocks in sight.
