Video: The Line Ep.4- Cory and Topo’s Departure

Departing on an Everest expedition is difficult for a number of reasons. From a purely logistical standpoint, getting a team and their gear to one of the planet's most remote regions is no walk in the park. On a more interpersonal level, to climb Everest is to risk one's life in pursuit of alpine glory—a reality which any climber must square with themselves and their loved ones. In such challenging terrain, success has different definitions. As Cory mentions, surviving the climb with all fingers and toes intact is a major success. Reaching the summit is the primary goal, but not if it means taking excessive risks to lives and limbs.
