Park skiing can be tough on skiers' bodies and their equipment. Repetitive hard landings weaken the adhesive that holds the ski together, and rails destroy edges at a ridiculous pace. Depending on the gear and rider, a pair of skis might only last a fraction of a season of hard-charging park skiing.

Normally, wear and tear is a gradual process with slowly-developing delaminations and edge cracks. Sometimes, however, skis explode with little warning, as seen in this video from freeskier Hugo Laugier. Hopefully he can warrantee those planks, because that's definitely not supposed to happen.
