VIDEO: Sam Anthamatten Goes Full James Bond in ‘Nevia’

We won’t lie to you and say Sam Anthamatten’s latest flick is pure adrenaline – actually, the intimate look into what it takes to become one of the most groundbreaking big-mountain skiers of our generation is the really good part. For many years, the Swiss mountain mastermind has combined alpinism, freeriding, and freestyle into performances that rival a James Bond flick. Surprisingly though, Sam has rarely been in the spotlight for these moves – instead taking a behind-the-scenes role as guide and “enabler” for the likes of Markus Eder and Jeremie Heitz. Nevia explores Sam’s life, and tells the story of a special mission he’s had his eye on: flying his paraglider to the base of the Obergabelhorn from his home in Zermatt, climbing and skiing it’s stunning face, and then flying back home.
