Video: Mountain Lion Family Cruises Through Jackson Neighborhood

Wildlife encounters are commonplace in Jackson. Locals are so used to seeing elk, moose, deer, and eagles that most won't even bat an eye or pause to take a video for social media. However, even the most jaded local can't deny that a predator sighting is exciting. There's something about seeing an animal that could easily kill you that gets the heart rate up.

Jackson resident Tiffany Smith's security cameras captured a family of six mountain lions cruising around her house Monday morning, a rare sight according to Wyoming Game & Fish Public Information Specialist Mark Gocke. In an interview with Buckrail, Gocke speculated that the family consists of five cubs and their mother, and reminded residents to keep food and trash secured to avoid attracting the predators to residential areas.
