VIDEO: Jess Kimura in Learning To Drown

Professional snowboarder Jess Kimura’s life and career has been one of forging ahead with a go-for-broke mentality. After the tragic death of her partner at the height of her career, Kimura spiraled into a cycle of self-destruction, grief and despair – all compounded by head injuries and mental health struggles. The challenges seemed insurmountable, but her only way out was from within, facing her deepest fears and reminded herself that not all wounds are meant to heal. Follow along with Kimura’s story in The North Face’s latest short film Learning to Drown. Fair warning: the film deals with heavy issues including suicide.
