Video: Ice Climber Makes Badass Finish To Competition Route

Competition ice and mixed climbing might be one of the weirdest sports we’ve ever seen, with a veritable jungle gym built for climbers to swing their tools and kick their crampons into. Most of the route isn’t even ice – it’s usually a combination of traditional plastic climbing holds, wood, and Styrofoam – but the acrobatics never cease to impress.

At a recent climbing world cup, Swiss superstar Yannick Glatthard made the ultimate finish, dyno-ing from one platform to the finish block like in a Hollywood climbing flick. It gets better though – he pulls himself to the top, fist bumps the photographers, and then pulls out a BUNCH of slack from the rope only to jump off his perch into thin air.
