VIDEO: Effortless Style in “Simplicity”

Big mountain lines, backcountry kickers, and resort lines – Laurent De Martin shows it all in his latest video, “Simplicity,” in which director Titouan Bessire gives us a tasteful piece of cinematography, showcasing the skiing and the landscape. Keeping with the title, many parts of the video are filmed in black and white, and even when filming in color, Bessire keeps it as monochromatic as possible. Ski videos can be a lot these days: overproduction, elaborate story lines, obnoxious colors, sponsors, brands, and ads. But, Bessire managed to avoid all of these things. “Simplicity” is raw, clean, and artful. It is a masterpiece.
