Video: Cutting Carbon and Shredding Pow in Norway

In general, pro skiers have hefty carbon footprints. The bulk comes from travel, whether from driving across the country or flying around the world in search of snow. However, it doesn't have to be that way, as proven by Nikolai Schirmer. He set out last season to decouple his love of skiing from his carbon footprint, skipping the flights around the world in favor of road trips around Europe in a van.

In the third and final installment of Endless Winter, the series following Schirmer's low-carbon skiing adventures, he and a rotating cast of friends tackle some ski mountaineering objectives in Norway's Lyngen Alps. There's some seriously spicy skiing, and some pretty sketchy close calls, but things pan out for the best. Cheers to Nikolai for showing that low-carbon doesn't mean low-fun!
