Introducing the PRO Skijor and its inaugural 2026 Frontier Tour, which is officially North America's first professional skijoring series. This six-stop circuit is bringing "rodeo energy meets ski-town attitude" to the West.

The Ultimate Winter Mash-Up

Skijoring is one of winter’s wildest traditions. In this sport, a horse and rider pull a skier—or snowboarder—at full speed. Teams navigate a snowy obstacle course filled with jumps, banked turns, and gates. This event tests horsepower, gravity, and grit. Ultimately, it’s a chaotic blend unique to Utah, combining its ski heritage with cowboy roots.

The PRO Skijor tour elevates this wild energy into a professional sport. Racers will compete for tour points, bragging rights, and a share of a massive $250,000 total cash prize purse. Throughout the circuit, consistency matters, as the top teams will earn their spots in the final showdown.

Utah: The Heart of the Frontier Tour

It’s no surprise that the tour has deep roots in the Wasatch Back. In fact, the series was co-founded by Utah skijoring pioneers Brian Gardner and Joe Loveridge. Together, they have led the successful SkiJoring Utah events since 2017.

The new Frontier Tour will launch and conclude in the Beehive State, cementing Utah's status as the home base for the sport. The PRO Skijor 2026 Frontier Tour is a true road show, transforming fairgrounds across the Mountain West into snow-packed, high-octane playgrounds. While Utah is the launchpad and final showdown location, the six-stop circuit strategically hits key locations in Idaho and Montana, ensuring the best of the West gets a taste of this wild event.
