Two Years Later, Remembering the Legendary Stevie Smith

Two years ago today, Stevie Smith passed away in a motorcycle accident, leaving behind a void in the mountain bike community. His infectious energy and permanent stoke, as well as all the hard work he put back into shaping mountain biking in his hometown of Nanaimo, B.C. and beyond, cemented his legacy as one of the sport’s greats.

At TGR, we were immensely honored to have Smith be a part of the UnReal project, and his riding lent a dose of good Canadian rowdiness to an already groundbreaking film character. He teamed up with fellow World Cup DH racer Brook MacDonald to tackle one of the fastest and loosest tracks we’ve ever seen deep in the B.C. interior. It was nothing short of hectic, and we're glad we got the opportunity to capture it on camera.
