Two Of the Biggest Slams at the Vallnord DH World Cup

The downhill racing circus returned to Vallnord, Andorra this weekend for the latest stop of the UCI World Cup. It was a day of great success for the French men, with three in the top five. Rachel Atherton proved she still dominates the women’s field, with a resounding win on the fast and loose track over Marine Cabirou and Tracey Hannah.

While some racers experienced success, others went down in spectacular fashion. Troy Brosnan was able to recover from a high-speed crash in practice to place third overall. We can’t imagine simply walking away from hitting a wall like that:

Aaron Gwin has not been lucky this season, with a massive crash at Fort William followed by a horrific crash in training at Vallnord that separated both shoulders. Heal up quick Aaron!
