This Ski Film Celebrates The Dreams That Pull Us into the Mountains

YETI’s Ridge of Dreams isn’t your normal ski film. In fact, there’s actually not a single shot of actual skiing in it. But for anyone who’s ever been on a ski expedition, or planned on, or even dreamt about going on one, you’ll recognize the power of the unknown. One little thought can lead to a photo, which will lead to a storm of ideas that can eventually culminate in the experience of a lifetime.

Of course, as anyone who’s ever been on a ski expedition, planned on, or even dreamt about going on one might know, things don’t always go as planned. Born from a dream that came from a single photo, two lifelong friends set out to ski their Ridge of Dreams deep in the mountains of Alaska. After planning and waiting for years, they run into some unforeseen issues that prevent them from legally gaining access to the zone to make the ski film they wanted. In the end, the desire to go shred trumps all, and leave the cameras behind and head out onto their dream adventure anyway.
