It’s no surprise that Cody Townsend is pretty particular about the ski gear he straps to his feet. After all, he’s been skiing longer than most of us, and he certainly puts his equipment through the paces in all manner of scenarios both inbounds and out. One thing he’s noticed, and something I fully agree needs to be explored further, is the difference between ski bindings. There’s a dizzying amount of awesome choices on the market today, but different bindings are designed for very different things – namely tech bindings are for ski touring and shouldn’t be used in a ski resort because they simply don’t safely release the way an alpine-style binding does.
