The days are getting shorter, the air is getting a little crisper, and that itch is starting to build. Winter is just around the corner, and the official countdown has begun. Palisades Tahoe just dropped the big news: opening day for the 2025-26 season is slated for Wednesday, November 26, conditions permitting. That’s right, we are officially less than 100 days from loading lifts and ripping laps across their 6,000 acres of legendary terrain.
Last season was one for the books, marking the resort’s 75th anniversary with a marathon 185-day season that stretched from November 22 all the way to Memorial Day. Despite a slow start to winter across the West, a series of late-season storms hammered the Sierra, dropping a season total of 392 inches of snow. Those storms delivered 27 powder days, including two separate 25-inch dumps that kept the stoke high through the spring.
