After a strong showing at iF3 2018, TGR's films did well again in 2019. iF3 graphic.
TGR doesn't make films to win hardware, but it's certainly nice to be recognized by our ski-and-snowboard-filmmaking peers. After winning Best Cinematography and Best Editing for last year's Far Out, we submitted both Winterland and Roadless for review this year. They were judged alongside 80-odd other films; a truly daunting field. However, both films took home awards!

Roadless took home the awards for Best Cinematography in the pro-snowboard film category, and Best Storytelling in the open category.

Winterland side of things, Sam Smoothy was awarded Best Crash for his performance in Austria, which is a nice silver lining for what was otherwise a terrifying and horrific moment. Elyse Saugstad's skiing in AK netted her the award for Best Female Performance in the ski category, which should surprise nobody who's seen her segment—she absolutely shreds. If you haven't seen either film, both are still on tour, and Winterland is now available for digital download.
