TGR Wins Outdoor Innovation Award for Films and Stewardship

TGR has always been passionate about innovation in our films and business practices. TGR Photo.

We are honored to receive this year’s Outdoor Innovator award for 25 years of genre-defining ski, snowboard, mountain bike, and surf films. Every year Elevation Outdoors Magazine runs a Best of the Rockies Poll to highlight exceptional businesses, people, events, and must-see destinations in the Rocky Mountains. Nominees are selected by the readers and then voted on in a final poll. The winners represent a group of movers and shakers, pushing boundaries and creating impactful change in the outdoor community and beyond.

“TGR has always been passionate about innovation. We were early adopters of the digital space, we’ve worked with many companies developing new camera technologies, and have always experimented with new ideas in the ever-changing world of media and storytelling. It’s an honor to receive such a cool award, “ explained TGR co-founder Todd Jones.

In the last few years particularly, TGR has sought to challenge the status quo of action and adventure sports media with films like Andy Irons: Kissed by God, Ode to Muir, and Lindsey Vonn: The Final Season. Stay tuned for upcoming projects with HBO.

TGR’s commitment to innovation isn’t exclusive to cinema. Outdoor stewardship has always been a priority, as seen through longstanding partnerships with Protect Our Winters, the Surfrider Foundation, One Percent for the Planet, BICEP. In addition to ensuring our films are 100% carbon neutral through the use of carbon offsets, we took a further step in 2019 by transitioning the Wilson, WY headquarters to 100% local green power.

This year also marked an exciting new chapter in TGR's story with the opening of the
Continuum TGR Hotel & Bar in Teton Village. The hotel is the physical embodiment of the TGR lifestyle by hosting live music and film screenings for the community. On top of enjoying a comfortable stay right at the foot of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, guests might just bump into a TGR athlete at the bar or in the extra-spacious hot tub.

TGR was also excited to announce a brand new line of premium goggles. The new line of optics came from a collaboration with Carl Zeiss, and was tested by our athletes in extreme conditions across the globe. These state-of-the-art ski and snowboard goggles feature Sonar Lens technology, setting a new standard in the ski and snowboard industry. Be sure to check out the goggles along with our
premium line of apparel
