Jared Goldberg | Super-G

Sport: Alpine Skiing
Discipline: Super-G
Country: USA
Hometown: Salt Lake City, Utah
Height: 6’0” (183 cm)

Jared Goldberg has spent more than a decade on the World Cup circuit. After a career best result that landed him on the Super-G podium in Val Gardena in 2024, Goldberg is honing in on Milan-Cortina 2026. Come next month, he'll be representing Team USA for the third time at the Olympics. (2014, 2018). As attention turns towards Milan-Cortina 2026, that consistency may be the key to success. Experience is the best preparation, no?

Born in Boston, Goldberg learned to ski at Killington, Vermont, before his family moved to Utah when he was four. Snowbird became home, and the terrain there helped shape him into a speed skier comfortable on steep, technical tracks. He made the Stifel U.S. Ski Team in 2011 and has remained a consistent presence on the men’s speed side ever since.

Goldberg’s first major milestone came in 2014 when he earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic team for Sochi. He finished 11th in the alpine combined and 19th in giant slalom, while also posting strong World Cup results that season, including a 12th place downhill at Wengen and an 11th in the Kitzbühel combined. Those finishes established him as a reliable performer on the sport’s most demanding courses.

After several seasons hovering just outside the top tier, Goldberg took a step forward in 2023 with the best downhill campaign of his career. He narrowly missed the podium in Kitzbühel with a fourth place and followed that up with a ninth place downhill in Val Gardena. That same winter, he recorded his best super-G result to date, finishing 14th in Aspen.

The real turning point came during the 2024–25 season. At Val Gardena, Goldberg finished second in the super-G, just 0.01 seconds off the win. It marked his first World Cup podium and confirmed that his form was trending upward heading into the Olympic cycle.

Olympic Outlook: Milan–Cortina 2026

Goldberg’s recent results have placed him firmly in the conversation for Milan–Cortina 2026, particularly in super-G. Cortina’s Tofane course is a traditional speed venue that rewards experience, clean execution, and strong tactical decision-making. Those traits have defined Goldberg’s skiing throughout his career.

While the U.S. men’s speed group remains competitive, Goldberg’s combination of downhill consistency and now-proven super-G podium form gives him a realistic path toward Olympic selection. If he continues building on his momentum through the 2025–26 season, he could arrive in Cortina skiing some of the best racing of his career.
