Texas is Coming: Delta Adds Direct Austin Flights to Denver
Popular Stories
Colorado beware. Skiers from "God's Country" may be coming to Colorado this winter.
Starting November 9, Delta is making it easier for Central Texans to get in on Colorado's legendary powder stashes. The airline just added a nonstop from Austin-Bergstrom (AUS) to Denver (DEN), which means access to great skiing for Texans and a maybe a little more Lone Star twang on the slopes.
The new flight runs twice daily on SkyWest-operated Embraer 175s, complete with First, Comfort+, and Main cabins.
For Texans, this is a major win. Denver remains the front door to resorts in Summit and Eagle County resort. Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper, Vail, and Beaver Creek are all in rental car range. Whether you grab the rental or opt for connections to smaller airports around the Rockies, no the layover should translate to more laps.
In a press release, Austin airport CEO Ghizlane Badawi called the move “an exciting investment” and thanked Delta for “connecting Austin and Central Texas travelers to more nonstop destinations.”

Delta announced a number of other Austin based flights at the same time. They're adding nonstops from AUS to Columbus (CMH) and Kansas City (MCI) and beefing up service to San Francisco (SFO) and Indianapolis (IND).
Colorado locals, consider this fair warning: the Texas migration just got a little easier. Texans, consider this your cue to start shopping flights before Ikon blackout dates and the first big storms hit.
