Slab waves are notorious beasts. Formed when the seafloor rises quickly from great depths to just below the waves, incoming swells rise instantaneously into massively powerful and fast moving monsters. These brutes then pummel into the shallow seafloor that birthed them, and any surfer unlucky enough to get trapped under the churning water is subjected to the equivalent of a human meat grinder - or score some the best ride of their life.
