Terrifying Footage of Snowboarder Caught in Huge Avalanche

It's no secret that we have been pounded with snow this winter, at least here in Jackson Hole. We are only half way through our season and we already have 380 inches at the resort — nearing last year's total snowfall for the entire season. All this new snow is exciting, but it also means there is a complex and often dangerous snowpack. 

This video was posted in 2015, but it still ranks as one of the scariest avalanche videos I've seen. Sorin-Alexandru Radu shared his footage to show how easily things can go wrong. He said, "I was such a fool there and there were a lot of signs showing that the snow is not alright." He was able to stay calm in this situation and make it out alive — he was lucky.
