Teen Airlifted From Longs Peak After Fall

A 15-year old teen hiking on Colorado’s Longs Peak suffered a 400-foot sliding fall when he lost balance on a section of the climb between Mount Meeker and Longs Peak. Rocky Mountain National Park Search and Rescue arrived at the teen’s location around 9 a.m. Due to the steep terrain and the nature of the teen’s injuries, he was airlifted to the Upper Beaver Meadows, where he was then picked up by a Flight For Life air ambulance and transported to a hospital. There has been no update on the condition of the teenager, but we send his family our condolences and wish him a speedy recovery.
