Tami Razinger: “Mezclada” and the Journey of Reconnecting with Her Roots
Popular Stories
In the summer of 2023, Tami Razinger embarked on a journey that was both personal and professional, exploring the landscapes and memories that had shaped her story. Her short film, Mezclada, became her vessel for this exploration, offering a lens into her unique experience as an Argentinian-born, U.S.-raised skier—a journey marked by a divide between two identities. Through Mezclada, Tami dives deep into the complexities of belonging and the transformative power that comes with embracing one’s roots.

The journey back to Argentina to film Mezclada was emotional, raw, and powerful. Standing on the same terrain that first inspired her to become a professional big mountain skier, she felt an overwhelming connection to her past. It was not just a reunion with her family but with the land, the culture, and a piece of herself that had been kept tucked away. This film is a reflection of that journey, a narrative that underscores the beauty of bridging the cultural gaps we carry within us and finding strength in heritage.
The response to Mezclada has been beyond what Tami could have hoped for. Its premiere event in Victor, Idaho, drew an enthusiastic, sold-out crowd, validating her story in a way that felt deeply fulfilling to both her and the viewers. Just weeks later, on February 3rd, Tami screened Mezclada again in the intimate setting of the Jacksom Hole TGR Town Store. These screenings allowed her to share the story with a community that has always been close to her heart, and the feedback was incredibly humbling.
This fall, Mezclada was selected for two significant film festivals: IF3 and the Hispanic Heritage Film Festival, two platforms that truly understand the importance of diverse stories and perspectives in the world of skiing and adventure sports. This coming Saturday, Tami will have the honor of showing Mezclada during the “Girl Winter” Film Tour’s World Premiere in Jackson, Wyoming, where it will screen alongside other inspiring women’s films, including Blue Hour by Amie Engerbretson. Being included in this lineup is a milestone for her as a filmmaker and athlete.

Today also marks the online release of Mezclada on Flylow Gear’s YouTube channel, allowing the story to reach an even wider audience. This release coincides with an article by The Inertia, which she is excited to share as it delves into both the film and the personal journey that inspired it.
Tami hopes that Mezclada resonates with viewers from all backgrounds—those who have navigated dual identities, who seek to connect with their heritage, and who find strength in embracing their roots. It’s a story of courage, culture, and the mountains that shape us.
