Tomorrow is “A Day of Jake”, A Global Celebration for Snowboarding

Get out and ride however you can on March 13th in honor of Jake Burton Carpenter. If you have any concerns about riding at a resort, you can still participate – just get outside. Go powsurfing, splitboarding or hiking; take a walk with your friends or family, or, just go about your day with Jake in mind. Whatever you do, draw your own version of the JAKE symbol, wear your armband and post some content using the hashtag #RideOnJake. It’s thanks to Jake Burton’s vision and ingenuity that snowboarding is the sport we know today. To celebrate his spirit, Burton has made tomorrow, March 13th, the first-ever “A Day for Jake”. They hope that this celebration will become an annual global day of snowboarding that honors Jake’s legacy. Participating is pretty darn simple—just get out and ride. But if the coronavirus has you concerned, you don’t need to be at a resort. Simply being outside splitboarding, powsurfing, or hiking is enough. At the very least, take a moment tomorrow to reflect on what snowboarding means to you, and send your love to Jake.
