Burton's employees aren't spending too much time wondering when they'll snowboard again. Instead, they're too busy helping the fight against COVID-19. Thanks to its supply chain in Asia, the brand was able to acquire a half-million FDA-approved masks and get them directly into the hands of healthcare workers in the Northeast. Once again, Burton reminds us how private American companies—especially within the outdoor industry—are doing what they can to help fill gaps in the crisis. Masks were just the jumping-off point for Burton, and they're still doing more.

With manufacturing equipment accessible and ready to go in Burlington, Vermont, the company teamed up with Boston’s Children’s Hospital to design much-needed face shields. Right now, hundreds per week are being created. Vermont's governor Phil Scott even extended his gratitude to Burton’s employees, saying “I feel, personally, so fortunate to be governor of this great state, wherein a crisis like this, we can rely on each other to get through it.”
