Hi All,
Just new to this forum so I thought I would start with sharing my latest trip. So I just finished my exams and wanted to ski. Unfortunately we had a very warm summer in Europe and November has not been that much different. Last year in November we already had a few powder days, this year we were happy to find snow, good snow, on the glaciers.
One of the places to be for glacier skiing in the pre-season is of course Zermatt where I competed for two years as a kid. Unfortunately as a student I have no financial resources to get my ass over there in the high season but since it was low season it was just possible.
So from Nyon in Switzerland my friend Camille joined and we headed to Zermatt on a Friday. A little stop above Montreux to enjoy the view a little bit.
Finally after 3 hrs of driving we arrived in Täsch.
Slalom skis and a two day old pair of freeride skis were included in the hope to test the new gear. The day after things looked like this.
It was pretty dam warm. The snow was not so hard but what did it feel good to be back on those skis. Camille doing some turns.
Me doing some.
We had a little lunch view a hell of a view over Italy.
After two days of working on the technique it was time to head off piste while there had not been any fresh falls since over a week and it had been warm. Snow was hard but we had to give it a shot with the Breithorn on the background.
And here are a few runs taken with the action cam.
