Mammoth CA Announces Closing Day

The clock is ticking on Mammoth’s 2024–25 ski season. The California heavyweight just announced its official closing date: June 15, 2025. That gives skiers and snowboarders a little more than a week to squeeze in their final turns.

Until then, lifts will be spinning daily from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with Broadway Express, Stump Alley Express, Face Lift Express, and Chair 23 still in operation.

Closing day festivities will kick off with free coffee and donuts at McCoy Station starting at 7:30 a.m. (first come, first served), followed by a group summit photo and final lap at 1:15 p.m. Consider it your last call for spring laps in California.

But just because ski season’s winding down doesn’t mean Mammoth is hitting pause. The resort’s bike park opened on May 23, offering world-class downhill and cross-country riding. Add in golf, fishing, hiking, and the occasional après beer in a T-shirt, and you’ve got all the ingredients for a classic Eastern Sierra summer.

Of course, Mammoth has a history of going big. In 2023, thanks to historic snowfall, lifts kept spinning all the way to August 6. This year isn’t quite that wild—but mid-June skiing still puts Mammoth in rare company.

If you're still not ready to call it, there’s always Timberline Lodge, Oregon—North America’s most reliable late-season stronghold.
