If your commute ritual needs a little shaking up, try giving these skiing-related podcasts a listen. Whether you want to know more about your pro-crush or are looking for a little avalanche safety refresher, podcasts are an easy way to suck down some information while passing the time. They can also be a great companion to your solo shred!
1. Powder 8 Podcast
Triple threat skier, ultra-runner and photographer Kt Miller just launched a new podcast series, Powder 8 last week and it's all about topics related to the backcountry. In the first episode, Kt interviews backcountry powder junkie Noah Howell about discovering the Wasatch, starting PowderWhore Productions with his brother Jonah, and embracing new technologies and innovations. We're excited to see where this thing goes!
2.
Now in its fourth season, Low Pressure Podcast is one of the most well-rounded ski podcasts out there. Scoring mostly in-person interviews, host Mark Warner sits down with a plethora of ski characters, from pro athletes like Sean Pettit to two random Aussies living out of their RV on a ski safari across Canada. A self-proclaimed "ski-ist" (skiing is a religion, right?), Warner re-affirms our love for this sport in every episode.
3. Hadley Hammer's NAUSICAA-CAST
TGR athlete Hadley Hammer started this podcast inspired by Homer's NAUSICAA (the first women documented playing games) because she felt like no one was asking female athletes the questions she really wanted to know the answers to. In each episode, Hadley interviews her inspirations—badass chicks who are killing it within the niche sports of freeskiing, climbing, ultra-running, surfing and more—as human beings, not just women (it's about time!). From Angel Collinson to Emily Harrington, this podcast is star-packed and definitely worth the listen.

4. Wintry Mix
Wintry Mix is a ski industry insider's take on the winter biz with a dash of humor on the side. Vermont-born-and-raised Alex Kaufman also takes a holistic approach to the ski industry, interviewing everyone from resort owners, mountain ops, meteorologists, gear makers and your average family skiers.
5. Sponsored: The stories behind the skiers
If you want in-depth access to the lives of your favorite skiers, Powder Magazine's podcast series, Sponsored, is worth the listen. Host Mike Powell takes a candid approach to interviewing skiers that go way beyond your average profile. Powell also has a more comical, R-rated podcast series The Powell Movement, where he sheds off the more serious layer of Powder Mag and tells us how it really is.
6. Totally Deep
This is another backcountry podcast coming out of Carbondale, Colorado that will not disappoint. While heading into the backcountry should always be taken seriously, the hosts at Totally Deep, Doug Stenclik and Randy Young, keep the conversations deep but the banter fresh. These dudes are hilarious and essentially the Mike & Mike of snow sports.
7. Slide: The Avalanche Podcast
What everyone knows about mountaineering is that there is always more to learn when you're out there. The Slide is an educational podcast for all things avalanche related, delivered to you in a witty and digestible manner. If you're heading into the back or side country, this podcast is a must—just think of each episode as part of a quick avy course refresher.
