Angel Collinson Slays Big Lines in Alaska - Full Segment from “Paradise Waits”

JACKSON, Wyo. (Nov. 4, 2015) Today, leading action sports media company and content curator, Teton Gravity Research (TGR), announces the availability of their newest action sports film on DVD, "Paradise Waits". To celebrate the release, TGR is sharing the entirety of Collinson's incredible segment.

Angel Collinson, the female skier who was honored this September with the award for the Best Female Freeride Performance at the International Freeskiing Film Festival (iF3), linked together a segment that is being called one of the the best female skiing segments ever. Collinson is the first female to have the coveted closing segment in a major ski film. Last year she opened TGR's film "Almost Ablaze" and took home the Best Female Performance from Powder Magazine. "This year, she closed the film and emphatically put to rest any speculation that last year was a fluke", said Powder Magazine's Editor at Large, Matt Hansen. "Her fast aggressive style certainly continues that long-held TGR tradition."

Collinson capitalizes on the some of the best conditions Alaska has seen in recent history in a largely unexplored mountain range. TGR Director Todd Jones speaks on her performance: “In twenty years of filming skiing I have never seen a female skier charge Alaska the way Angel did this year. It is truly mind blowing."

"Paradise Waits" follows cold fronts, winter weather, and a cast of world-class athletes as they seek paradise across the globe. A broad range of ski and snowboard disciplines are highlighted, ranging from 50-degree pitches, deep in Alaska, to the snow-buried urban landscapes of Boston, Massachusetts, all captured with remarkably stunning clarity.

Stay STOKED: Your Guide to TGR’s Best Content

We might be living in unprecedented times, but that doesn't mean you can't stay stoked while practicing social distancing in the comfort of your own home. We recommend staying inside, curling up with a nice cup of hot chocolate (or your favorite Sierra Nevada beer), and digging deep in TGR's library of films from the past years. Don't worry, the mountains will still be there when this is all over. Stay healthy, stay safe, and most of all stay stoked.Full TGR Films: - Check out the

Podcast: Recounting Sam Smoothy’s Near-Death Crash in Winterland

Accidents in the mountains don’t just take a toll on the athletes involved, they weigh especially heavy on the friends and bystanders who witness and respond to them. When Sam Smoothy took a particularly heavy tumble while filming in Austria for TGR’s Winterland last year, the experience shook his film crew (who were the first responders and saved Sam's life) to the core. Learning from events like these is unfortunately part of the game we play, but provide valuable moments to look back on
