Lost in the hubbub around the Ikon Pass announcement and speculation on how Vail will respond with its Epic Pass is the fact that the Mountain Collective continues to be a superb player in the collective season pass market. And on Thursday, the Mountain Collective announced the addition of a new gem to its roster: Montana's Big Sky Resort.
With the addition of Big Sky, the Mountain Collective's stable of resorts grows to 16 for the 2018-209 season, with Big Sky joining Alta, Aspen Snowmass, Banff Sunshine, Mammoth, Revelstoke, Snowbird, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, Snowbasin and Sugarbush, among others.
The pass offers two days at each of the 16 resorts with no blackout dates, and given its current price point of $409–substantially cheaper than both the Epic and Ikon Pass–the Mountain Collective doesn't appear to be going away anytime soon.
“Big Sky is an ideal fit for the Mountain Collective,” Christian Knapp, the Chief Marketing Officer of Aspen Skiing Company said in a press release about the addition. “It has all the attributes we look for in a Collective-worthy destination. A big, burly mountain experience combined with an authentic mountain community. We are thrilled to offer a lineup of resorts for 2018-19 that will resonate with our core pass holders and constitute the very best mountain experiences in their respective regions.”
