Tesla Made a Limited Edition Surfboard

Continuing with the momentum from his self-driving car and flamethrower, Elon Musk channeled his ingenuity into his latest invention: the Tesla surfboard. Queue the “oohs” and “ahs” please. Let’s just make one thing clear, Musk didn’t just drop some revolutionary redesign—it’s simply a surfboard. So, unfortunately, don’t expect this board to self-paddle itself through the waves anytime soon.

According to Fortune, Tesla released a limited quantity of carbon fibered boards inspired by the interior of their cars on Saturday. It even has the same high-quality gloss and finish as the exterior. But apparently, the $1,500 board does not come with a set of fins. Not a huge dilemma, seeing as most will treat it as a collector’s item. 

Regardless, the sleek matte black boards were such a hit that the 200 produced sold out within a day. I know, we’re just as bummed, but there’s still hope if you’re hankering to get your hands on one. On eBay the boards are selling for a mere $5,000! The greater question we're itching to ask Musk is: what’s next on your gear list?

We hope it’s a pair of skis. Or maybe a chairlift that somehow gets rid of the lift line?
