Jeffrey R. Pearlstein of Kings Beach, California was pronounced dead on Tuesday from a skiing accident at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows. Per The Sacramento Bee, the 33-year-old man sustained fatal injuries after losing control in the Keyhole area.

The Keyhole section of the mountain is known for its steep terrain. Around 11 a.m. Pearlstein took a fall on the route. Both Ski Patrol and North Tahoe Fire Department responded to the incident with first aid and CPR, but Pearlstein was pronounced dead from his injuries.

"We would like to extend our heartfelt sympathy to the young man’s family and friends. We hold them closely in our thoughts and prayers," said Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows in press release.

This is sad to hear. Such accidents are indeed a blackmark to the trail. Most of these accidents happen because of the carelessness of the skiers who are new to this trail. People should try to know about the trails before hand and be cautious.
