Pow-Town in May: Colorado’s Ski Season Just Won’t End

By May, most North American ski areas are either closed or offering more grass than snow. Most ski areas outside Colorado, that is. A storm currently moving east across the state has already dropped over a foot of snow in some places, with another few inches expected over the next day or two.

Over the past 72 hours, A-Basin has received 16" of new snow, with Winter Park getting 12", and Breckenridge with a solid 15". 

While the seasonal totals at Loveland, Breck, and Winter Park might not have reached the 500" benchmark, they've been blessed with several season-extending spring storms. The seasons, they are a-changing in most of the country, but winter is keeping a firm grasp on Colorado's highlands.
