Pow-Town in May: Colorado’s Ski Season Just Won’t End

View this post on Instagram

Tuesday powder day!

A post shared by Loveland Ski Area (@lovelandskiarea) on

By May, most North American ski areas are either closed or offering more grass than snow. Most ski areas outside Colorado, that is. A storm currently moving east across the state has already dropped over a foot of snow in some places, with another few inches expected over the next day or two.

The snow report at Loveland Ski Area looks pretty nice right now. Loveland graphic.

Over the past 72 hours, A-Basin has received 16" of new snow, with Winter Park getting 12", and Breckenridge with a solid 15".

While the seasonal totals at Loveland, Breck, and Winter Park might not have reached the 500" benchmark, they've been blessed with several season-extending spring storms. The seasons, they are a-changing in most of the country, but winter is keeping a firm grasp on Colorado's highlands.
