At this very moment, climbers Adrian Ballinger and Cory Richards are embarking on a journey to the top of Mt. Everest, and are Snap Chatting the whole thing. These two expert climbers, Adrian having already summited Everest six times with oxygen and Cory having bagged Gasherbrum II and Lhotse without oxygen, are determined to share what really goes on during these long climbs. #NoFilter.
For the month of April, Cory and Adrian will snap various parts of their journey to and up the north side of Everest. They plan to share short videos and photos with snapchat’s real-time ability in order to depict a realistic look at an unfiltered climb during a crucial season on the ever changing Everest. Adrian wrote in OutsideOnline that they chose Snapchat because “snaps—unlike posts to Instagram or Facebook—must be posted immediately from a phone’s camera. If we’re successful, you’ll have a complete chronicle of our journey.”
Their big goal with this ongoing snapchat feed goal is to share their perspective and encourage dialog on both the positive and negative aspects of climbing Everest.
