A trio of cold fronts racing up from Antarctica are bashing the country with high winds, cold air, and big storms. Although the extreme weather has been troublesome for much of the country, in the highlands, heavy snowfall has been a blessing for down-under ski resorts. The Australian resorts of Perisher, Thredbo, Hotham, and Falls Creek could receive almost three feet of snow, with some areas getting even more. It’s time for Aussies to put away their surfboards and take to the hills as winter closes in on the island.
