64-Year-Old Skier Found Dead in Avalanche Near Crystal Mountain

The inbounds and beyond at Crystal Mountain Resort in Washington.

Q13Fox reported that the body of a 64-year-old woman was found buried beneath avalanche debris outside Crystal Mountain's ski area boundary on Thursday morning. 

A member of ski patrol said he noticed avalanche debris and then a backpack and a partially buried person in the snow. The skier was nonresponsive and cause of death was asphyxiation. 

Ski patrol searched the rest of the area for more victims but concluded that the woman had been skiing alone.
