These Maps Show Which Continent Your Favorite Beach Faces

These maps by cartographer Andy Woodruff shows which bit of coastline around the world your home beach faces. Andy Woodruff map.

Cartographer Andy Woodruff has created an ingenious set of maps that, after taking into account all the various crooked angles beaches around the world face, along with the curvature of the Earth, show which beach around the world is truly across the horizon from your own, and the results are super surprising.

Most of the southern coast of Long Island, for example, is facing Venezuela. If you're living in Portugal, you might be facing the same beach, too. And if you're looking out at the distant horizon from a certain point in Newfoundland, you might be gazing way, way over the oceans towards... Australia.

Check out the rest of the maps below, and be sure to read the blog on Andy's website to get a sense of how he created this really interesting visual lessons.

TGR Tested: The Alchemy Arktos 150 Is A Party On The Trails

Alchemy's Arktos is a very versatile daily driver that encourages poppy, jibby riding - and with an interchangeable 150mm and 135mm build option, you can get two bikes in one. | Max Ritter photo. On paper, the 2023 Alchemy Arktos 150 might look like just another enduro bike, but after a summer of testing it on all the trails around Jackson Hole, it has shown itself a worthy tool for big-mountain adventures. The Arktos 150 cleverly shares the same frame as the 135 and 120 versions, and by
