Saving Money On Your Adventure Sports Break

Holiday’s aren’t cheap affairs, especially if you’re planning on going on an adventure sports break. Being on a budget can be draining, but we’re here to tell you that a limited budget shouldn’t stop you going on holiday! In fact, there are several simple ways to save money on your break! While money loans are available in a financial emergency while you’re away, such as if you were to injure yourself and have to fork out for an unexpected medical bill, saving money on your adventure break is important. Here are our top tips for getting you there!

Shop Around And Book Early!

Whether you’re going on holiday or buying Christmas gifts, you’ll know that shopping around is the key to finding the best deals and an adventure sports break certainly isn’t any different. In fact, package sport’s holidays can often be found at amazingly discounted prices, especially if you book early! Shop around from travel agents and online sites alike and you never know what deals you might come across – just make sure to check that all sites and providers that you look at are certified and trustworthy.

Consider Renting Your Equipment Or Buying Second Hand

Sports holidays will often come with the need for equipment, and buying your own can be quite the pricey affair. Whether you’re in need of skis, surf boards or something else entirely, consider hiring it once you’re out there! This will cut down the cost of buying your own equipment and it will avoid you having to pay any additional costs to get them to your destination! If you know that you won’t be able to hire equipment while you’re out there, you could shop around for second-hand alternatives, especially if you aren’t planning on using the equipment on a regular basis.

Think About Timing

The timing of your holiday is everything, from the season that you choose, to the day that you fly out. Did you know that Tuesdays are usually the cheapest for flights? Travelling during off-peak times could save you hundreds of pounds, which is ideal if you’re on a budget but are flexible with when you can travel. While package sports breaks may come with time limitations, there are still ‘off peak’ periods within these set times, so make sure you do your research and think carefully about when you can, and want to go!

Make Sure You Have Insurance!

While we all hope that we won’t get into any accidents or injure ourselves while we’re away, you should definitely invest in travel insurance. This isn’t necessarily expensive, and it can save you thousands of pounds if you find yourself in trouble while you’re abroad. If you’re travelling Europe and are a UK citizen, you can even opt for a free EHIC card, which will give you access to free or discounted healthcare while travelling if you are injured.

Go Last Minute

Despite telling you to book early, you also have the choice of booking last minute. If you’re willing to take the risk, booking your break at the very last minute could be ideal for saving those pounds. Airplanes and holiday providers can’t fill seats once the time has passed, so they usually heavily discount their tickets the closer to the date it comes so if you’re willing to take the risk of waiting to book, this could be worth the wait!

Travelling doesn’t have to be costly, and the money you save using our tips above can be used for leisure activities while you’re away, or can be saved for when you return home. Whatever you choose to do with the saved cash, we wish you safe and happy travels regardless!
