Brooklyn Bell on Allyship in the Outdoor Community

If there’s anything we’ve learned from the last week, it’s that the outdoor industry—TGR included—could do a better job supporting the black, indigenous, and people of color in our community. Taking the steps to do so, however, isn’t straightforward, and just simply sharing a black square on your feed doesn’t cut it. Thankfully, artist and outdoor justice advocate Brooklyn Bell sat down with Kim Harris of Distinctive Voices Consulting for an informative talk about allyship.

Harris is a professional diversity, equity, bias-awareness, and inclusiveness trainer and consultant from Northwest Washington, and was happy to discuss with Bell about what it means to be an Ally. It’s an insightful conversation that explores privilege, identity, and solidarity.
